International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) are highly experienced health professionals, IBCLC is the most highly regarded qualification in breastfeeding knowledge and support, recognised all over the world, we are trained and qualified to help mothers and babies to breastfeed. IBCLC's are accredited professionals in other fields, we personally, hold midwifery, health visiting and sick children's nursing qualifications,  but in addition we have additional extensive and advanced training in breastfeeding and lactation issues and can assist with both simple and complex breastfeeding issues. Regulated by the International Board of Lactation Examiners we are required to abide by their code of professional conduct, have over 1,000 hours of proven clinical experience and re-certify every 5 years. We are also required to demonstrate continuing professional development annually. When looking for a lactation consultant always make sure that they are IBCLC qualified and that their license remains valid.
